Our story begins in autumn 2021. After almost two years, the Corona pandemic is still going strong. The government just announced another lockdown, supposedly until christmas time. The general sentiment is that it likely won’t be the last, even though the authorities claim otherwise. Winter is coming, which causes new cases to skyrocket, a situation that is further fueled by the still relatively low immunization rate in Austria. Discussions are being led whether the protective vaccination should become mandatory, as hope is dwindling that the large number of anti-scientific conspiracy beliefers will be convinced by any reasonable argument. And two Austrians, Lisa and I, are just tired of it all.
We both have just finished our master’s degrees, Lisa hers not even a month ago. The dates for getting our third shot have already been fixed.
